13 items that tell me I'm a writer!
13. I am a passionate reader and I know that I could write as well as some of the books I read.
12. I'll be watching the news or reading an article and often one of my first thoughts is: "Would that be an interesting plot point in a novel?"
11. I have more than 6 books on how to write and I always seem to pick up another one. Although, if you have less than half a dozen you are just a wannabe! *wink*
10. I have put my work in front of complete strangers and then asked them to tell me how bad it is.
9. I have started talking about a story idea and 10 minutes later realized that I was talking louder and faster as I became more passionate about the details of my story... and noticed the person listening to me had a glazed look of complete disinterest.
8. I have talked about make believe people as if they were "real" life friends and family members.
7. I have sat in front of my computer and spent hours working on a particular scene.
6. I've tried to learn and practice and learn and practice and learn and practice the craft of writing. So many hours that could have been spent on family time, house work, exercising, reading, and I do not regret my choice.
5. I write, therefore I am.
4. The stacks of plot ideas and character notes that surround me. - on my desk, in my file cabinet, in folders on my computer, in hard copy stacks placed in colored plastic sleeves.....
3. The fact that completing a novel is one of my life's goals. There are so many goals that I can have... and that is #1 for me.
2. I love writing. I love it. Love it. Love.
1. The voices in my head say so.

A great Thursday Thirteen list, and I so relate to it all, to the notes, the passionate discussions, and the voices that keep me awake at night. The writing life is weird in a wonderful way!

Happy TT!

Beautiful thirteen and so passionate. Makes me wish I took my list a bit more seriously...but it's just not in me to do. I guess that's why you are the writer...and I am not :o)

All creative people have voices in their heads! Don't they? I hope so!

Mine tells me that we (oops,I) enjoyed your list very much! Made me smile. Keep on writing!! Jessica

That is awesome that you have found what you love. Good for you! I can relate to talking about or thinking about characters as if they were real. I do that all the time when I get into a book.

You are a writer my dear, and a serious one at that!
Thanks for sharing

I don't write, but I do think of characters as good friends, lol. And I know I could do better at not publishing typos than some books! (please don't point out the typos in my blog, lol)

Wonderful, passionate list! I love writing as well, but am not that good at it. I think what I really love is words -- writing or reading them.

I love, love, love quotes!

Thank you for stopping by my thirteen!

I can relate for sure. This list is my mantra too. Writers must be suckers for punishment, as we do put a piece of ourselves on display to be judged.

I'm always taking online courses about writing. ALWAYS!

Happy TT, thanks for dropping by mine.

You don't like writing by chance, do you?

This is a very admiral list. Now you've made me introspective regarding my own passions...hmmm, do I have one?

Thanks for visiting my TT. Have a super day.

Phew! You guys are keeping me busy with all these comments! :)

I do love my family and my husband very much. Family will always come first in my life, but beyond them... the written word is my passion. Reading. Writing.

My book is actually in the thriller genre and on a more specific level - action/adventure. It takes place in the Tapajos-Xingu region of the Amazon rainforest.

Thank you all for your kind words and support - it's very much appreciated!

Take care!

Gee, many of those apply to me. When I did NaNoWriMo for the first time this year, my husband would sometimes think I was telling him about real people - then get that look on his face and ask if it was my characters I was talking about. .

Writing definitely takes practice...editing and re-editing. I also get excited when I have an idea and I torture my hubby and a few friends with resulting piece of literature. :P

You're absolutely a writer! How inspiring - and I think it's admirable that you are doing what you're passionate about. If everyone followed their passion, the world would be a happier place, I think!

That letter from your teacher is so amazing. I am so sorry that she's gone but you know she had to have been beaming with pride over the young lives she so positively influenced. What an amazing woman!

Hugs today!
