How does Inspiration find you?

Writing is a mentally challenging hobby. Nothing stimulates the brain quite like creating an entire new world and people to interact with it. It is a dynamic field, of that, there can be no doubt.

As I sit here on this beautiful and sunny Monday morning. The energy of my mind is high and I feel my fingers twitching in response. Unfortunately, I need to work... but I did wonder, what is it that has me inspired today? Could it be the relaxing weekend? Perhaps the bright and sunny day?

Have you found any trends that seem to influence your creativity and inspiration? When is your creativity highest? First thing in the morning or late into the night?

I'm at my most creative in the morning or early afternoon. During the evenings, I'm winding down. Sometimes I'll have good ideas in the evenings - but most often, they're solutions to minor problems I've run into throughout the day, rather than actual new ideas.

I've found that walking energizes me, so my daily routine shall become: get up, coffee, quick shower, walk, longer shower, work.

I haven't found my groove yet, to be honest. With two little kids, I fit writing/blogging/exercising in where and when I can.
Can I get back to you with an answer in 2009? :)

I'm more creative first thing in the morning, or late at night if I'm all alone. I write in bursts, but I write quickly.

That said, I work full time too. If I'm having a busy week at work I find my creativity drops. Summer will help give me a boost though.

early morning, followed by late at night. as to trends, not really other than the obvious (meaningful or artful song/movie/interaction). so...did you get any writing done? or did you just write about writing ;-)

Late at night is when I am most creative. I get alot of my ideas from my dreams or music.

Beautiful and sunny? Ack! That reminds me that I never did step outside today and see the sun. (Unless my monitor counts as a sun.)

My creativity is best in the morning, when I haven't had a chance to get all stressed out. *g

I get my best writing done when I'm sitting down after a distraction (unless I catch the groove, and then look out. I can be like Daisy and write for nine days on end). So showering (Daisy...), doing dishes, even stopping to read a book with the kids. All that's good. So is my Google Reader.

As for inspiration, it's all about the music, baby. Give me my music and my brain churns and ... look out.

I am inspired to write by just having the free time to do it. That usually happens in the early morning or late at night. The funny thing is: early in the morning I am too tired, and late at night I am too tired!

Generally speaking it's late at night for me, when things are all nice and quiet in the house. I used to write a lot when going through a depressive phase but have got into the healthier habit of writing when well which is more ideal, really!

I find I write better in the morning. But my creativity is better at night. LOL! Does that make any sense?

I usually will brainstorm at night and jot down ideas, then write it out in the morning.

While I write in the morning, my mind is most creative just as I'm falling asleep, and my subconscious is in control. I also seem to churn out ideas while in the shower.

I write amazing essays. Really I am so impressed with myself I can't stand it. The problem: they are written in my head in the shower. I get to the paper and poof its gone. How do I get it from my head to the paper is probably the great mystery every writer faces.

Most of my inspiration comes in the shower. Like today I had another great idea. So many thoughts and ideas. How come I have to have a day job?

Alas, no writing yesterday... just writing about writing, which seems to be the much more common trend for me :)

Monday's are pretty much too hectic for me to get any writing done. It's sad, really.

I also will have great ideas as I'm drifting off to sleep or in the shower... but I just can't seem to "capture" them... they just float away!
